Zags Close Out Fall Season With ITA Regionals In Seattle

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Gonzaga University men's tennis team will conclude the fall side of its 2011-12 season this weekend with the always-tough Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regionals, hosted by the University of Washington. The tournament begins Friday at 8 a.m. and concludes Sunday.
HEAD COACH PETER MACDONALD'S THOUGHTS ABOUT THIS WEEKEND: "I'm really excited going into this tournament. All six guys I'm taking have winning records in singles and I feel like they deserve it. I think it's going to be a great test for them. It's going to be tough and I hope for the best."

LAST YEAR AT THE ITA REGIONAL: Gonzaga University saw three players reach the round of 32 in both singles and doubles in the ITA Regionals last season. Senior Zhia Hwa Chong reached the round of 32 in singles while the team of sophomore Muzeen Ismath and former Zag Kevin Eischen reached the round of 32 in doubles. Senior Jake Davis, junior Levin Guillermo and Eischen each posted opening-round victories in singles but fell in the second round.
