Haiden Palmer Named West Coast Conference Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Gonzaga University's redshirt sophomore Haiden Palmer was named the West Coast Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 19.
Palmer led the Bulldogs to an 83-56 victory over UC Riverside in its lone contest of the week. The guard hit 9-of-13 from the field, including 3-of-5 from beyond the 3-point arc for a game and Gonzaga career-high 21 points. Fifteen of Palmer's points came in the first half when she hit 6-of-8 shots, including two 3-pointers in the final 50 seconds to give GU the 43-24 halftime edge.
Palmer also added six rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals in 28 minutes of play.
This is Palmer's and Gonzaga's first WCC Player of the Week honor of the year.
Palmer and No. 25 Gonzaga face No. 12/13 University of Georgia today in the first game of the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
