Lantta Earns Two Wins But Zags Fall To Hawai`i

HONOLULU, Hawaii - The Gonzaga University women's tennis team lost a 5-2 decision to the University of Hawai`i Wednesday evening. Sophie Lantta led the Bulldogs (3-9) efforts winning both her singles and doubles matches.
After a two and a half hour rain delay, the match began with singles play first followed by doubles.
The Rainbow Wahine (5-7) won five of the six singles matches to secure the match win. Lantta earned her eighth win of the season defeating Mari Tadaki 6-4, 4-6, 10-7 at the No. 6 spot.
The Bulldogs won two of the three doubles matches to secure the single point. Jackie Tabb and Lantta cruised to an 8-2 victory at the No. 3 spot while Clare Dodge and Kristina Zauere picked up their ninth win of the season together defeating Katarina Poljakova and Tadaki 8-5 at the No. 2 position.
The Bulldogs return home Saturday to play a doubleheader against Linfield College and Seattle University, respectively, at the Spokane Racquet Club. The match starts against Linfield starts at 9 a.m., Seattle at 4:30 p.m.
