Nazal Falls In Second Round Of All-Americans

TULSA, Okla. - Gonzaga University men's tennis junior Alvaro Nazal came up just short on the second day of the ITA All-American Championships hosted by the University of Tulsa on the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
Monday, Nazal dropped fourth seeded Harrison Richmond 7-5, 6-1 before falling to Danil Zelenkov (George Washington University) 6-4, 6-4 today.
"This tournament has the top players in the nation," head coach Peter MacDonald said. "Alvaro really came out and challenged himself. I am proud of the way he competed. This is a big step for him individually and for the entire program."
The loss moves the Santiago, Chile, native to 3-2 during the fall. Nazal owns victories over two nationally ranked opponents (No. 60 Mate Zsiga from Baylor University and No. 51 Richmond).
