Bulldogs Jump Two Spots In USA Today Coaches Poll

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Gonzaga University women's basketball team jumped two spots in the USA Today Coaches Top 25 Poll, checking in at No. 22 Tuesday. The Bulldogs, who moved to 7-1 on the year with three wins last week, received 12 more votes from a week ago for 126.
The Bulldogs are ahead of Purdue, Iowa and Florida State and 17 votes behind 21nd place University of California.
Gonzaga is also ranked in the Associated Press Top 25, standing in 23rd this week.
University of Connecticut still holds the top spot, receiving all 32 first place votes for 800 points. Stanford University, who Gonzaga plays this upcoming Saturday, is in fourth place with 685 votes.
Two other West Coast Conference institutions are ‘also receiving votes'. BYU earned 29 votes this week, while the University of San Diego claimed 10.
Gonzaga closes out a tough four-games-in-11-days stretch Tuesday at the University of Wisconsin. The tip is scheduled for 5 p.m. PT and can be heard locally on 1050 AM The Key.
