Women's Basketball Moves Up One Spot In AP Poll

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Gonzaga University women's basketball team moved up one spot in the Associated Press Top 25, moving up to 24th in Monday's poll.
The Bulldogs gained 13 votes for a total of 89 after closing out non-conference play at 10-2 with wins over UC Riverside and Washington State University this week.
The University of Connecticut continues to be the unanimous top choice receiving all 36 first place votes for a total of 900. The Huskies are currently 12-0 on the year, with their wins coming by an average of 37.8 points per game.
One other West Coast Conference institution is ‘also receiving votes'. University of San Diego earned 20 votes this week.
Gonzaga opens league play at Saint Mary's. The opening game of WCC is set for Saturday, Dec. 28 in Moraga, Calif., at 1 p.m.
