Women's Basketball Stands 24th In USA Today Coaches Poll

SPOKANE, Wash. -The Gonzaga University women's basketball team continues to stand 24th in the USA Today Coaches Top 25 Poll after improving its record to 5-1 with victories over both Colgate University and Fairfield University.
The Bulldogs garnered 112 votes Tuesday, up 39 from a week ago. It's the second-straight week the Zags hold the No. 24 spot.
Three other West Coast Conference schools are ‘also receiving' votes this week. BYU is the second team of others receiving votes with 28, while Saint Mary's College is fourth with 23 votes. University of San Diego rounds out the league schools with five votes.
The University of Connecticut holds first to the top spot with 800 votes, while Stanford University - the Zags Dec. 14 opponent - is ranked fourth with 682 votes.
Gonzaga is back in action Friday when it hosts Portland State University. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
