SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- Gonzaga women's soccer student-athlete Karley Baggerly was tabbed Second Team All-West Coast Conference Tuesday.
Aliyah Miller joined Baggerly in the postseason honors, being named to honorable mention All-Conference. The annual honors were once again voted on solely by the WCC's 10 head coaches. It was the second All-WCC honor for Baggerly, as she was named to the conference's All-Freshman Team in 2013.
Baggerly was second in the WCC with eight goals this season. She was second in the conference averaging 1.47 shots on goal per game. Her 18 points this season were the third-most in the conference this season, while her 52 shots were fifth.
Baggerly, who was recently named Academic All-WCC, moved to fourth on the program's all-time list with 18 goals scored in her career. The junior is also fourth on the all-time list with 45 points. Her 123 total shots are sixth in program history. Baggerly's eight goals and 18 points this season were both the sixth-most in a single season in GU history.
Miller makes the list for the first time. She totaled five points this season with two goals and an assist. Against nationally-ranked Washington, the junior scored a goal and had her assist. She was a key part to the Zags' midfield and defense in 2015. She started in all 19 games for GU this season, playing 1,741 minutes, the second-most of any field player.
BYU's Nadia Gomes became the second straight Cougar sophomore striker to earn WCC Player of the Year honors. San Francisco junior defender Ali Schaffer and Loyola Marymount senior defender Callie Taylor shared Co-Defender of the Year accolades. BYU junior Rachel Boaz was tabbed as the Goalkeeper of the Year, while Pepperdine midfielder Christina Settles was selected as the Freshman of the Year. Loyola Marymount's Michelle Myers collected WCC Coach of the Year honors, becoming the first top Lion to win the award.
For the seventh consecutive season, at least three West Coast Conference teams have advanced to the NCAA Postseason and all were well represented on the 2015 All-WCC teams. No. 13 BYU, the 2015 WCC Champions, Loyola Marymount and No. 15 Santa Clara combined for 11 of 24 total spots on the first and second teams.
A perennial multi-bid conference, BYU, Loyola Marymount and Santa Clara will all represent the West Coast Conference in the 2015 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship, starting Saturday.
