GU (15-6, 6-2) was nearly perfect against the Tigers (6-10, 2-5), taking two of the three doubles matches and dropping just two sets across six courts in singles.
"We were happy to end the weekend with a solid performance," head coach D.J. Gurule said. "We are really looking forward to celebrating Alex [Bourguignon, at Senior Day] next weekend and looking forward to the WCC Tournament."
In doubles, the No. 1 duo of Sophie Whittle and Graciela Rosas started the day with a 6-1 win, and then the No. 2 duo of Alex Bourguignon and Haruna Tsuruta clinched the point with a tiebreak win 7-6(4).
Whittle and Nevada Apollo then quickly pushed the lead to 3-0 with wins on Nos. 1 and 2 in singles, just ahead of a victory by Graciela Rosas on No. 3. Whittle was the first to finish, taking her eighth consecutive singles victory by a score of 6-3, 6-2. Apollo was next with a 6-4, 6-4 win, followed by Rosas on No. 3 with a 7-5, 6-3 win.
GU was tied in the third set on Nos. 4 and 6 with Domonique Garley and Kate Ketels, while Tsuruta led by a set and was up 4-3 in the second when all three matches went unfinished.
GU is tied for second in the league with Saint Mary's and Loyola Marymount with two WCC losses each. Saint Mary's and GU each have one match remaining, while LMU has two in the coming week.
Gonzaga returns home next weekend for its regular season finale against Portland at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Stevens Center. GU will also honor its lone senior on this year's squad, Alex Bourguignon, during a Senior Day ceremony.
