Gonzaga wraps season with a program-record 16 wins
SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga men's tennis' season came to a close on Friday afternoon at the WCC Championship in a 4-0 loss to sixth-seeded Santa Clara in Claremont, Calif.
Gonzaga (16-8) grabbed a doubles win, but the Broncos (17-7) were able to take the point and then win the three singles that finished.
GU's pair of Simon Homedes Dualde and Emilio Moreno were the first to finish, claiming a 6-2 win on No. 2.
In singles, the Broncos were able to claim wins on Nos. 2, 4 and 6 to get the victory.
Gonzaga set a school record for wins in a season with 16 on the year, and finished an all-time high second in the West Coast Conference. GU also claimed its highest-ever ranked victory when it defeated then-No. 31 BYU at home.
