SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga men's tennis added former high school player of the year Brandon Park for the 2019-20 season, head coach
Jonas Piibor announced Thursday.
"Brandon has a bright future, and we are very excited to continue to develop him here at Gonzaga," Piibor said.
Park, a native of Bakersfield, California, is a four-star recruit with a national ranking of 120. He joins Gonzaga's 20
th-ranked recruiting class, the highest-ranked group of signees in program history.
"The school is everything I have ever wanted," Park said. "Gonzaga has a combination of strong athletics and strong academics. My campus visit was absolutely incredible, the atmosphere was such a great place to be, and I pictured myself living there. The facilities and resources were mind-blowing and the Stevens Center was absolutely beautiful. The coaches were spectacular, and I could see my tennis game develop tremendously with them for the next four years. The team made me feel right at home, and I am excited to join them."
Park was the BVarsity Boys Tennis Singles Player of the Year for Stockdale High School as a sophomore, and First Team All-Area as a freshman and junior. During his sophomore campaign, Park advanced to the Central Section finals and finished as the runner-up.
Park also helped his SHS team win Southwest Yosemite League titles three straight years in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
