WBB Announces Non-Conference Schedule

The Zags start their season on Nov. 4 in an exhibition game versus Western Washington
SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga women's head basketball coach Lisa Fortier announced her team's 13-game non-conference schedule for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
The non-conference slate will feature eight games at McCarthey Athletic Center, including an exhibition matchup against Western Washington on Nov. 4.
The Zags are also set to participate in the Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis on Nov. 19-21. The field includes Gonzaga, Louisville, Marquette, Rutgers, South Dakota State, Tennessee, Texas and UCLA. The bracket is set to come out at a later date.
On Nov. 10, the Zags host Long Beach State for the first time in program history before hosting the Big Sky's Southern Utah on Nov. 12 in the Kennel. The Bulldogs go on their first road trip of the season on Nov. 15 to play Wyoming. Last season, GU defeated the Cowgirls, 54-47, in Spokane and the Zags hold a 7-1 all-time record against Wyoming.
The Bulldogs then travel to Paradise Island in the Bahamas to play three games in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament. This marks the second year in a row that the Zags travel to a tropical tournament as Gonzaga competed in the Rainbow Wahine Showdown in Honolulu, Hawaii last season. GU came back as champions and went 3-0 against Eastern Illinois, Hawaii, and Utah.
The team returns home on Nov. 26 to take on local foe, Eastern Washington, followed by Maine on Nov. 28, marking the first time the two teams have met. Gonzaga currently holds a 35-13 record and a 17-game winning streak against the Eastern Eagles with the series dating back to 1982.
Gonzaga then goes on the road for the next two games to Stephen F. Austin on Nov. 1 and then to Stanford on Dec. 4. The Zags played both teams last year, including two games against The Cardinal. Overall, this will mark the 14th time in program history that the Zags have faced Pac-12's Stanford.
The Bulldogs return home to close out the non-conference slate against Queens on Dec. 6, UC Davis on Dec. 11, and Montana on Dec. 21. The Zags competed against the Aggies and the Griz last season, but this will also be the first time the team has played Queens University.
