Zags open season in San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO – Gonzaga women's golf opened its season at the Olympic Club Invitational Monday. The Bulldogs' Cassie Kim is in a tie for 21st place after the first two rounds.
Kim is four-over (146). She was one-over (72) in Round 1 and three-over (74) in the second round. The senior made 13 pars in the opening round.
Gonzaga is 10th as a team at 27-over (595). The Zags were 11-over (295) in the first round, before totaling a 300 (+16) in Round 2.
Freshman Grace Lee started her collegiate career with an opening round 73 (+2). She is tied for 25th at five-over (147). Her first round featured 14 pars and a birdie.
Quynn Duong is in 43rd at nine-over (151). Chaewon Baek (+12, 154) and Taylor Mularski (+15, 157) are in 52nd and 53rd.
UCLA's Ty Akabane tops the leaderboard at six-under (136), but BYU's Allysha Mae Mateo is right behind at five-under (137). UCLA has a two-stroke lead over California entering the final round. The Bruins are four-under (564).
