WBB: Zags Add Utah Transfer Naya Ojukwu

Ojukwu comes from Meridian, Idaho and graduated Mountain View High School

SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga women's basketball head coach Lisa Fortier announced the addition of Naya Ojukwu. Ojukwu, a 6-foot forward transfer from the University of Utah, will join the Zags in the fall of 2023.

Ojukwu played in four games during her freshman year at Utah. She averaged 5.3 minutes, 3.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per contest. She scored a career-high 10 points at Mississippi Valley State, going 5-of-7 from the field and pulled down a career-high five rebounds.

In high school, Ojukwu was the 2020-21 Idaho Gatorade Player of the year and MaxPreps Idaho Player of the Year. She earned 2021 State Tournament MVP honors and was a three-time Class 5A All-State honoree. Ojukwu led Mountain View High School to two-straight Idaho Class 5A State Titles and averaged 24.2 points and 10 rebounds, per game as a junior.
 
Coach Fortier on Ojukwu: Naya is a great athlete, and has a diverse skill set. She is capable of playing multiple positions for us and will be able to score from all areas of the floor. Naya has an easy personality, and a drive to work that will help her fit in right away. We are really excited to welcome her to the family!
