Zags place eighth as a team
TACOMA, Wash. – Gonzaga women's golfer Carys Baek finished in 13th place at the SeattleU Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational. She was even-par (216) through 54 holes at the Tacoma Country Club.
Baek led GU to an eighth-place finish. The Bulldogs were 16-over (880).
Baek opened the event with a 74 (+2) in Round 1, a 70 (-2) in the second round, and was even-par (72) in the final round.
Grace Lee was close behind in 18th at one-over (217). After a 75 (+3) in the first round, she carded back-to-back rounds of 71 (-1). Lee rose nine spots on the leaderboard on the final day.
Esther Yoo finished at five-over (221). Her second round 71 (-1) was her lowest round of the tournament.
Jasmine Wong (+10, 226) and Darby Rickel (+18, 234) were 50th and 76th. Taylor Mularski placed 70th at 16-over (232) as an individual.
Rivekka Jumagulova of Seattle took medalist honors at 13-under (203), with Cal State Fullerton's Davina Xanh finishing in second at six-under (210).
Fullerton won the team title at 12-under (852). Seattle (-9, 855) and British Columbia (-1, 863) were second and third.
Gonzaga has off until Oct. 21 for the three-day Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Kapolei, Hawaii. Live scoring will be available on GoZags.com.
