SAN BRUNO, Calif. – As a result of their efforts in helping Gonzaga to a 2-0 week, Yvonne Ejim and Allie Turner have been named the Credit Union 1 WCC Women's Basketball Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week, respectively. For Ejim, this marks her first player of the week award of the season and the 10th of her career, while Turner has claimed freshman weekly honors in two in the first three weeks of the season.
 
CREDIT UNION 1 WCC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – YVONNE EJIM, SR. – GONZAGA
Gonzaga's fifth-year senior, Yvonne Ejim, turned in a pair of dominant performances, averaging 24.0 points, 14.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists to lead Gonzaga to a 2-0 week with wins over Rice and New Mexico. Against Rice, Ejim posted 22 points and 11 rebounds and hit 9-of-16 from the field and 4-of-4 from the free-throw line. In the win at New Mexico, Ejim approached a triple-double with 26 points and career highs of 17 rebounds and eight assists. Against the Lobos, Ejim hit 11-of-18 field goals and added a pair of blocks. This is the third time Ejim has posted back-to-back 20-point double-doubles in her career. She now has four double-doubles on the season and 29 for her career.

CREDIT UNION 1 WCC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – ALLIE TURNER, FR. – GONZAGA
Allie Turner claimed her second Credit Union 1 WCC Freshman of the Week honor in helping Gonzaga to a pair of wins. She averaged 32.5 minutes per game in the wins over Rice and New Mexico. The freshman also averaged 8.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists. Turner totaled 12 points and two assists against Rice, hitting 3-of-7 from beyond the three-point line. At New Mexico, Turner contributed four points, five rebounds, and two assists.
