
Texas Tech Controls WBB in Second Game of Paradise Jam

The Zags close out the tournament tomorrow against Florida State
ST. THOMAS, Virgin Islands. – The Gonzaga women's basketball team had its first-ever meeting with Texas Tech and dropped to the Lady Raiders, 67-49.
Gonzaga (4-4) had three players in double figures, led by Allie Turner's 14 points. Claire O'Connor scored 11 points and Yvonne Ejim rounded out the trio with 10 points. Ejim grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds to record her 30th career double double. O'Connor was the next leading rebounder with seven.
The Zags faced a six-point deficit going into halftime, 26-20. Ejim led GU with six points and seven rebounds in the first half as Turner also scored five. Texas Tech (7-1) shot 40% from the floor while Gonzaga shot 32%. Gonzaga led the rebounding effort with 17, compared to TTU's 15.
Texas Tech took over in the third quarter by outscoring Gonzaga, 22-11. The Zags continued to battle in the fourth by scoring 18 points, led by Ejim and Turner.
Overall, Gonzaga shot 33% from the floor while Texas Tech shot at 46%. The Zags forced 17 turnovers and just came up short in the rebounding battle, 35-34.
Records: Yvonne Ejim recorded her 30th career double double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Ejim has now scored double digits in 50-straight games. She has scored 1,797 points at Gonzaga.
