BREMERTON, Wash. – Gonzaga's
Guillermo Polo Bodart tied for seventh at the 2024 West Coast Conference Championships Saturday. The annual event was played at the Gold Mountain Golf Course.
Polo Bodart was seven-under (209) in the tournament. He had the best finish in the event by a Zag since 2020.
The Argentinian was under-par in all three rounds, highlighted by a 68 (-4) in Round 2. He carded a 71 (-1) in the opening round and ended with a 70 (-2). The sophomore's second round was bogey-free with four birdies and 14 pars. He made four birdies in the final round, and three in the first round. Polo Bodart's 39 pars were the most in the 40-golfer field.
Gonzaga placed eighth as a team at 18-over (882). The Bulldogs' second round total of 280 (-8) was their second lowest round of the season.
Jace Minni was 36
th at nine-over (225). He made four birdies and 11 pars in his second round of 71 (-1).
Daniel Nunez made GU's lone eagle during his three-under (69) second round. He finished 11-over (227) in 38
th place. Bruce Chang was 39
th at 13-over (229).
Fifty-four holes weren't enough to decide an individual champion as Brady Siravo and William Walsh from Pepperdine, and LMU's Riley Lewis finished with a three-round score of 10-under 206. Siravo and Walsh tied on the first hole knocking Lewis out of the three-way playoff. Siravo and Walsh would go another four holes stroke for stroke before Siravo captured the WCC Individual Championship with a birdie.
The WCC Men's Golf Championship will conclude Sunday with the semifinal and final match play rounds. Finishing in the top four through 54 holes of stroke play, San Diego, Pepperdine, LMU, and Saint Mary's advance to the semifinal match play round on Sunday.
