SEATTLE, Wash. -- The Gonzaga women's rowing team had the IV Eight boat compete at the Windermere Cup and they finished in second place over Washington and Seattle Pacific.
The crew finished with a time of 7:08.216, only behind Western Washington's 7:03.722. It was the only boat that competed in Seattle at Montlake Cut.
"We had a good jump off the start and locked in right away," coxswain
Riley Hoopes said. "The girls had quick catches and I could feel the energy in the boat as we took seats on UW. Overall I am really proud of our performance and think we put down our best piece of the season. It was the perfect last race to go out with."
Gonzaga will race again at the West Coast Conference Championships on May 18 at Lake Natoma.
