Tulsa, Okla. — The Gonzaga women's tennis team closed out the final day of the Tulsa Invite on Sunday with another solid performance, collecting three wins in doubles play and four in singles to conclude a competitive weekend in Oklahoma.
In doubles action, the Bulldogs went 3-1 across four matchups. Emily Robertson and Elizabeth Tindera earned a 6-2 win over Oral Roberts, while Ella Nielsen and Sveva Zerpelloni followed with a 6-4 victory against the Golden Eagles. Karla Brown and Brooke Bittner added a quality 6-4 win over host Tulsa. The duo of Diana Yanotovskaya and Madeleine MacNeille came up just short in a tight 7-5 loss to Tulsa.
On the singles side, Gonzaga earned four victories. Madeleine MacNeille turned in a flawless performance, winning 6-0, 6-0. Karla Brown continued her strong weekend with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Oral Roberts, while Elizabeth Tindera added a commanding 6-2, 6-0 win. Brooke Bittner rounded out the Zags' singles wins with a hard-fought 6-2, 7-6 result.
Elsewhere in singles, Robertson and Zerpelloni both pushed their Tulsa opponents to three sets. Robertson took the first set before falling 6-4, 6-7, 2-6, while Zerpelloni dropped a close battle, 7-5, 3-6, 4-6. Nielsen also competed in a tight match, ultimately falling 6-4, 6-4 to Oral Roberts.
