Severn Shines in 3-1 Road Win at Pacific

Zag sophomore scores seventh and eighth goals of the season

STOCKTON, Calif. – Gonzaga secured a 3-1 victory over Pacific on Wednesday at Knoles Field, with Gonzaga scoring twice in the second half to seal the win.
 
The first half began with Gonzaga (7-9-2, 5-3-2 West Coast Conference) establishing an early lead. Amelia Severn found the back of the net in the 10th minute, assisted by Katelyn Rigg, to put the Bulldogs ahead. Sydney Head delivered a strong performance in goal, making crucial saves against Pacific's attackers, including attempts by Kaya Rosa and Taylor Curtis.
 
Despite multiple corner kicks and shots from Pacific (4-8-6, 1-5-4 WCC), the Zags maintained their defensive stance. The half concluded with GU holding a 1-0 advantage, setting a positive tone for the remainder of the match.
 
The second half began with a shift in momentum as Curtis converted a penalty kick in the 49th minute, briefly leveling the score. Gonzaga responded effectively, with Rigg scoring in the 59th minute, assisted by Alexis Parker and Samantha Snorsky, to regain the lead.
 
Later, in the 65th minute, Severn extended the Zags' advantage with a goal assisted by Kylie Jones and Olivia Lester, bringing the score to 3-1. Despite several attempts from Pacific, GU maintained their defensive composure.
 
Rigg scored one goal and added an assist, contributing to her three-point performance. Head made five saves, with four coming in the first half, securing the win. Severn found the back of the net twice, finishing with three shots on goal. Jones provided an assist, playing a key role in the offensive efforts.
 
In the regular season finale, the Zags host Oregon State (2-11-5, 1-8-1) on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Luger Field. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with live stats available at GoZags.com.
