Zags place 19th at event in Palm Desert
PALM DESERT, Calif. – Gonzaga women's golf started their spring schedule with a 19th place finish at the Alice and John Wallace Women's Golf Classic hosted by Long Beach State at Monterey Country Club.
The Bulldogs were 75-over (927) in the three-day 54-hole event.
Grace Lee and Jasmine Wong led GU in 60th and 67th. Lee was 14-over (227), while Wong was 15-over (228). Darby Rickel finished in 88th at 21-over (234).
Fifth-ranked Oregon held off No. 3 USC for the team title. The Ducks were 34-under (818), while Southern California was 11-under (841). Suvichaya Vinijchaitham of Oregon took medalist honors at 12-under (201).
Gonzaga is at The Causeway Invitational Feb. 24-25. The tournament, hosted by UC-Davis, will be played at Del Paso Country Club in Sacramento, Calif. Live scoring will be available on GoZags.com.
