Zags (6-4) sweep Redhawks for second time
SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga men's tennis routed Seattle on Saturday, sweeping the Redhawks 4-0 at the Stevens Center.
Starting with doubles, Jay Fairclough/Nicholas Reeves and Giovanni Branchetti/Kai-Luca Ampaw each won 6-3 to claim the point for the Bulldogs. Tom Dunlop/Gus Krauel were leading 5-2 when the dual moved to singles.
The Zags clinched the overall match with dominant singles victories from Dunlop (6-0, 6-2), Diego Herrera (6-2, 6-3), and Branchetti (6-2, 6-2). When the dual ended, three singles bouts were stopped — Ampaw (4-6, 0-3), Reeves (7-6, 1-1), and Fairclough (6-3, 5-1).
