MINNEAPOLIS, Minn – Gonzaga women's basketball traveled to Minnesota for the quarterfinals round of the WBIT and fell in overtime after a back-and-forth battle, 82-77.
Yvonne Ejim led the Zags one last final time with an incredible 27-point performance. She also grabbed the most rebounds with 15 for her 15th double double of the season. Ines Bettencourt came off the bench to be the next leading scorer with 13 points as
Allie Turner also scored 12, including a clutch three to send the game to overtime.
At the end of the first quarter, the Zags trailed 25-16. Ejim scored a team-high eight points in the opening frame and went 4-for-5 from the floor.
The Bulldogs led at the half, 35-34, after GU outscored the Gophers 19-9 in the second quarter. Ejim went nearly perfect in the first half, 7-for-8 from the floor for 15 points and led the team in rebounds with six.
Gonzaga led the entire third quarter and entered the fourth up 56-50. The Zags outscored the Gophers 21-16 in the third and shot 53.3% from the floor.
Minnesota took the lead back in the fourth quarter and a made three-pointer by Turner tied the game at 70-70 with 40 seconds remaining in regulation to send the game into overtime.
The Gophers outscored GU 12-7 in overtime to take the win.
Notes:
Yvonne Ejim also now holds the record with most points scored in a single season with 726. She passes Courtney Vandersloot's 712 points in the 2010-11 season.

Yvonne Ejim has reached at least 20 points in 20 games this season. She also recorded her 15th double double of the season with 15 rebounds.
Turner finishes the season with 470 points to rank second all-time in Gonzaga freshman history. She is only behind Tammy Tibbles' 475 points in 1984-85.
