Men's Rowing to Race at Washington State on Friday

The race was originally scheduled for Saturday

Due to weather conditions, the men's rowing team will now race Washington State on Friday, April 18, instead of Saturday, April 19 in the annual Fawley Cup race.

"After a good trip last weekend we are ready to have at it again this week," head coach Dan Gehn said. "The guys had a good but short week of work and are ready for the Fawley Cup racing."

The crew, which was ranked #23 in this week's polls, is coming off a successful week of racing at the Schuylkill Invitational. In the regatta's first race, Gonzaga's Varsity 8 rallied to take second place at 5:37.92, barely one second ahead of Drexel (5:38.99). Holy Cross crossed the finish line first at 5:30.42. The second varsity eight's time was 5:42.41 in their opening flight, following Drexel (5:36.51) and Holy Cross (5:36.78), who also had a photo finish.

The Zags will start races at 5 p.m. with the Novice 8 boat. The 3V8 will follow at 5:15 with JV8 right after at 5:30. The Varisty 8 will be the last race of the evening with a start time of 5:45.
