OUT OF THE GATES:
- Gonzaga has won 16 of its 33 all-time season-opening matches, including its last three of its last five.
- The Zags are unbeaten in seven of their last 10 season-openers, with losses at No. 19 Texas in 2019, 4-3, versus Pittsburgh in 2022 in Missoula, 1-0, and last year at Utah, 2-1.
- In last season's opener in Salt Lake City, after Katelyn Rigg scored an equalizing goal for the Zags in the 53rd minute, the Utes scored the game-winning goal in the final minute on a free kick just outside the box by Bella Woods. The Utes outshot the Zags 13-10, but the Bulldogs had a 6-5 edge in shots on goal.

- Makayla Werner was named Preseason All-WCC. Last season, Werner was one of five Zags to start all 19 games, while logging a team-high 1,700 minutes, playing all but 10 minutes of game action, a career best. As a sophomore, she played a key role in securing seven shutouts and a plus-seven goal differential.
ZAGS TABBED THIRD IN WCC POLL:
- The Bulldogs were selected third in the conference's preseason poll as voted by the league's head coaches.
- Last season, Gonzaga was fifth in the preseason poll, before finishing third in the final WCC standings.
- The Zags matched their highest selection in the conference's preseason poll in program history. The 2006 GU squad were slated third in the preseason poll, before finishing sixth in the final conference standings.
A LOOK BACK AT LAST SEASON:
- In 2024, Gonzaga placed third in the final West Coast Conference standings, winning its last three contests.
- The Zags ended the regular season winning five out of their last six.
