
Maggie Rickert named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week

SAN RAMON, Calif. – Gonzaga Volleyball's Maggie Rickert was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Rickert had an exceptional performance in Gonzaga's match last week, tallying 36 digs against Colorado State. This was the second most digs in a match by a Gonzaga player in program history. Rickert had the most digs by any Pac-12 player in a match this season, as no other player in the conference has even posted over 30 digs in any match.
Rickert averaged 7.2 digs a set across a marathon five set match against the Rams that took over two and a half hours. GU held Colorado State to a .185 hitting percentage, the third lowest hitting percentage in any match this season for a CSU team that had played in four matches against ranked opponents.
Maggie Rickert leads the Zags with 168 digs in her second season playing as a libero for GU. A former outside hitter that converted to a defensive specialist last season, the senior captain has 620 career digs.
This is the third straight week in which Gonzaga Volleyball has had a player selected for a weekly Pac-12 award. Gonzaga Volleyball returns to action on Thursday when they take on Texas State at 4pm pacific time. Every Pac-12 Volleyball match is free to stream on YouTube.
