PALM DESERT, Calif. — The Gonzaga women's golf team wrapped up the Mountain Classic Match Play at The Classic Club Wednesday. The spring season-opening event was hosted by Boise State and featured an eight team bracket.
After falling to Nevada in the first round, 2-0-3, the Bulldogs bounced back with a 3-0-2 win over Boise State to advance to the consolation bracket final. Gonzaga closed the tournament with a 2-1-2 result against Wyoming, building momentum over the final two days of head-to-head competition.
Taylor Mularski led the Bulldogs with a
2-0-1 record, earning victories in the first two rounds before battling to an all-square match in the final.
The Bulldogs' first round opponent, Nevada, won the team title in the bracket. The Wolfpack defeated Montana State, 2-1-2, in a scorecard playoff (total victory margin).
Gonzaga is at the Westbrook Invitational, hosted by Wisconsin, Feb. 22-23. The event will be at the Westbrook Village Golf Club in Peoria, Ariz. Live scoring will be available on GoZags.com.
