WBB's Chantel Osahor Named to ABIS Coaches Watchlist

Baldwin, N.Y.— March 13, 2026 — Gonzaga women's basketball assistant coach Chantel Osahor has been named to the ABIS Coaches Watch List. Advancing Beyond in Sports (ABIS) where sports meets purpose beyond the game, is honored to reveal the coaches to watch for both men's and women's college basketball. This men's list includes 16 head coaches and 20 assistant coaches. The women's list includes 11 head coaches and 20 assistant coaches.

A major emphasis was placed on recognizing the efforts of non-division 1 head coaches. Founder and CEO of ABIS, Gary Charles stated, "There are some really good coaches doing some really big things in the other divisions. We want to give them their flowers and let them know we see them grinding too. The light will always be the brightest on Division 1 and the Power 4 conferences, but ABIS will do our best to help promote and elevate the successful coaches in the other divisions as well."

This is the fifth year of the ABIS Coaches Watchlist. It has become a great resource for athletic administrators and search firms. Ingrid Wicker McCree, Chief Operating Officer of ABIS and member of the Basketball Coaches Watchlist Committee said, "Our committee has robust discussions about the names that make our list. The hard data we gather on the coaches and the anecdotal data we have about the coaches informs our selections. Ensuring that HBCU's and other divisions are represented is a significant part of the evolution of the Watchlist. We are proud to do this work each year."
