The Gonzaga men's tennis team fell short in a tightly contested match against Idaho State to finish off the Boise State Invitational, 4-3.
Strong play in doubles gave the Bulldogs an early lead to secure the doubles point. With Jay Fairclough and Giovanni Branchetti paving the way for a victory of 6-1. Oscar Rashed and Nicholas Reeves clinched the point for the Zags, 6-3.
Oscar Rashed fell short on his first set against Idaho State, 6-2. However that didn't stop him from turning the match around and winning yet another point for the Bulldogs, 6-3 and 6-3. Junior Tom Dunlop brought an outstanding performance against Idaho State, taking both his set wins 6-3 and 6-2. Nicholas Reeves battled out a three set match, losing the first one 4-6, winning the second set 7-6 (6), before falling short in his third set 6-3.
The men's team will continue their traveling trek down to Las Vegas where they will take on UNLV, March 11th at 3pm.
