SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga women's golf head coach
Victoria Fallgren-Murphy announced the addition of Islay Benoit, a transfer from Florida Gulf Coast University, for the 2025-26 season.
"I am so excited that Islay will be joining us here in Spokane," Fallgren-Murphy said. "She is a seasoned competitor in the southeast and will bring a fresh new perspective and energy to our group. Her extensive tournament experience and proven track record at the Division I level will make her an incredible asset to our lineup. Islay has a bright future ahead of her at Gonzaga, and we are thrilled to help her reach her highest potential as a Zag."

Benoit comes to Gonzaga after two seasons at Florida Gulf Coast, where she made an immediate impact for the Eagles. As a sophomore during the 2025-26 fall season, she competed in five tournaments and 15 total rounds, posting a 74.3 scoring average. She recorded one top-25 finish, placing 20th at The Southern Invitational with a 228 (+12).
As a freshman in 2024-25, Benoit was named to the ASUN All-Freshman Team and earned WGCA All-American Scholar honors. She played 31 rounds for FGCU, with 21 countable scores, six rounds of even par or better and 59 birdies. Benoit carded a 67 in the opening round of the Pat Bradley Invitational, which at the time marked the ninth round of 67 or better in program history. She was also part of FGCU's ASUN Championship-winning team and contributed a countable score at the NCAA Lubbock Regional.
A native of Pensacola, Fla., Benoit attended Pensacola Catholic High School. At the time of her official signing with FGCU, she held a 69.7 scoring average and was ranked No. 1 in both her district and region, as well as No. 14 overall in the state. In the classroom, Benoit received the Sandra Barari Johnson Scholarship Award.
