Bulldogs' historic first season in the Pac-12 tips off at Washington State Jan. 6
SPOKANE, Wash. – A new era begins for Gonzaga men's basketball in 2026-27 as the Bulldogs enter their first season as a member of the Pac-12 Conference, pairing a historic 16-game league schedule with a challenging non-conference slate.

Gonzaga's 31-game regular-season schedule features seven opponents that competed in the 2026 NCAA Tournament, 10 teams that won at least 20 games last season, and four 2026 conference tournament champions. The Bulldogs will play 16 Pac-12 games, with eight at home and eight on the road, while the non-conference slate features six regular-season games in Spokane, eight neutral-site contests and a true road game at Creighton.

The national profile of the schedule is underscored by the latest preseason projections. Gonzaga is ranked No. 12 in CBS Sports' preseason Top 25 And 1, while six of the Bulldogs' possible opponents also appear in the rankings. Duke is No. 2, Michigan State No. 7, Arkansas No. 10, UCLA No. 20, Alabama No. 21 and Purdue No. 25.

ESPN's early 2027 NCAA Tournament projections also highlight the strength of the slate. The latest projection includes Gonzaga and eight of its scheduled regular-season non-conference opponents – Duke, Michigan State, Purdue, UCLA, Creighton, Oregon, LSU and Montana State – in the projected field. Exhibition opponent Arkansas is also projected into the field, as are Alabama and Baylor, one of whom Gonzaga will face at the Players Era Festival.

The Bulldogs open the 2026-27 campaign with a pair of exhibition games, traveling to Arkansas Oct. 24 before hosting Lewis-Clark State Oct. 28 at the McCarthey Athletic Center.

Gonzaga officially opens the regular season Nov. 2 against Purdue at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas as part of the TNT Sports Hall of Fame Series. The Boilermakers went 30-9 last season, won the Big Ten Tournament and advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.

The Zags return to Spokane for their home opener against New Mexico State Nov. 7. It will be the second meeting between the programs, with Gonzaga winning the only previous matchup, 80-68, in Spokane in 2013.

The Bulldogs host Montana State Nov. 17 before returning to Las Vegas for the Players Era Festival Nov. 24-27 at MGM Grand Garden Arena. Gonzaga opens against Kansas State before facing either Alabama or Baylor and then a third opponent to be determined.

Gonzaga returns home Dec. 2 against Eastern Oregon before traveling to Anaheim, Calif., for a Dec. 5 matchup against UCLA at Honda Center as part of the Acura West Coast Hoops Showdown. The Zags and Bruins meet for the seventh consecutive season, with UCLA coming off a 24-12 campaign that included an NCAA Tournament appearance and second-round berth.

The Bulldogs then host Incarnate Word Dec. 9 before traveling to Omaha, Neb., to face Creighton Dec. 12. Gonzaga has won all four previous meetings, including a 90-63 victory over the Bluejays in Spokane last season.

Gonzaga returns to Southern California Dec. 19 for a matchup against Michigan State at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, Calif., as part of the Acrisure Series. The Spartans went 27-8 in 2025-26 and advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16.

The Bulldogs close the calendar year at home against Cornell Dec. 31. The New Year's Eve matchup will be the first meeting between the programs.

Gonzaga's first conference game as a member of the Pac-12 will be the 154th meeting against Washington State Jan. 6 in Pullman. The Bulldogs return home to host Colorado State Jan. 9. The Rams won 21 games last season and return six of their top eight scorers.

Gonzaga then travels to Fresno State Jan. 13 for a matchup inside the 16,000-seat Save Mart Center. The programs have not met since 2001. The Bulldogs welcome Boise State to Spokane Jan. 16 for the 35th all-time meeting between the programs and the first since 2000.

The Zags continue conference play with consecutive road games at Utah State Jan. 21 and Oregon State Jan. 24. Utah State won 29 games last season, captured the Mountain West Conference Tournament championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Gonzaga and Oregon State last met in the WCC Tournament semifinals, with the Bulldogs pulling away for a 65-56 victory in the 31st all-time meeting between the programs.

Gonzaga hosts Fresno State Jan. 27 before stepping outside conference play Jan. 30 for a matchup against Oregon at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle as part of the Battle in Seattle. The Bulldogs pulled away from the Ducks, 91-82, in Portland last season, with Braden Huff scoring 20 points.

The Bulldogs return to Pac-12 action Feb. 4 against Texas State in Spokane. It will be the second meeting between the programs, with Gonzaga winning the only previous matchup, 77-65, in Missoula, Mont., in 1990.

Gonzaga travels to San Diego State Feb. 6. The Aztecs won 22 games last season before falling in the Mountain West Tournament championship game. The Bulldogs then travel to Boise State Feb. 10, with the Broncos coming off a 20-win season.

Gonzaga hosts Utah State Feb. 13. The Aggies have won four of the six all-time meetings, but the Bulldogs won the most recent matchup, 79-66, in Spokane in 2017. Gonzaga then hosts Washington State Feb. 17. The Zags have won the last nine meetings against the Cougars.

The Bulldogs step outside conference play once again Feb. 20 for a matchup against Duke at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit as part of the Prime College Hoops Showcase. The Blue Devils went 35-3 in 2025-26, won both the ACC regular-season and tournament championships, earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the Elite Eight.

Gonzaga returns to Pac-12 play Feb. 25 at Texas State. The Bobcats won 16 of their 17 games inside Strahan Arena last season. The Bulldogs then return home for a pair of games against San Diego State Feb. 27 and Oregon State March 3.
