TJ Benson

TJ Benson enters his first season on the Gonzaga staff. He previously spent seven seasons with Grand Canyon University as an assistant coach and director of basketball operations.
 
Prior to joining the GCU staff, Benson served as the assistant director of basketball operations for Boise State in 2011-12.
 
He also served as an Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) coach for the U16 Arizona Cagers in 2006 and the U17 Arizona Magic Passion4Ball in 2011.
 
Benson played for Mesa Community College, Weber State and GCU during his collegiate career. With the Lopes, the guard was selected to the 2009-10 Pacific West Conference second team. At Weber State, Benson participated in the 2007 NCAA tournament and 2009 NIT. Benson received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Weber State in 2009.
 
Benson also received a Master of Business Administration in Marketing from GCU.
 
He spent one season playing for Tijuca Tenis Clube in Brazil, helping his squad become the 2010-11 Brazil Super Cup champion.
