Senior (2023-24): Competed in the V8 and 1V4+ boats at the Head of the Spokane, with the V8 finishing first (15:30) and the 1V4+ also placing first (17:22)... Raced in the V8 and 1V4+ at the Head of the American, with the V8 securing second place (15:36.1) and the 1V4+ finishing third (17:17.5)... Competed in the V8 and 1V4+ at the San Diego Fall Classic, with the V8 finishing third (14:09.391) and the 1V4+ securing second place (16:20.820)... Raced in the V8 as the No. 7 seat at the San Diego Crew Classic, finishing second (6:17.057) on day one and fifth overall on day two... Helped the V8 boat secure second-place finishes at the Occoquan Classic (6:06.34, 5:57.03)... Contributed to the V8’s first-place finish at Washington State (6:10.78) and finished third overall at the Western Sprints (6:06.060)

2021-22: Consistently helped the Varsity 8 team earn top-five finishes this season, including first-place finishes at both the Head of the Snake and the Head of the Spokane events… Aided the Varsity 8 team in finishing second at the San Diego Classic with a time of 14:55.475… Although he began the season in the No.2 position of the Varsity 8 team, Smith transitioned to the No.4 spot at Oregon State University… In the new position, assisted in the Varsity 8 team’s third place finish at the San Diego Crew Classic, which is the highest finish in Gonzaga men’s rowing history…

2020-21: Began season rowing with the Second Varsity 8 team, finishing with a times of 6:23.91 and 6:35.92 against St. Joe’s and Drexel…Also helped Gonzaga compete in Fawley Cup as stroke with a finishing time of 6:15.7, finishing 2nd in the Second Varsity 8 team race… Transitioned to the First Varsity 8 team, where competed at the Western Sprints, earning a time of 6:00.36, and the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Championships…Helped First Varsity 8 team place fifth at the IRA Finals, with a time of 06:34.672.

Personal: Studying mechanical engineering at Gonzaga… Graduated from St. Andrews-Sewanee High School with a 4.0 GPA and as salutatorian… Participated in swimming and soccer while in high school, earning 3 varsity letters and was the captain for 3 seasons… Also earned Swim Team MVP and Soccer Team MVP…
