2022-23 (Fall): Performed predominately this season as the coxswain of the Second Varsity 8 team, where she helped the squad earn fifth at the Head of the Spokane, fourth at the Head of the Lake, and second against Oklahoma and Washington State… Earned the first victory of the season at the Triton Invitational, where she helped the Second Varsity 8 team finish first, with a time of 7:02.7… Concluded the season with first-place finishes at the WCC Championship, with an impressive time of 6:45.61, and in their final heat at the NCAA Championships, ending with a time of 7:06.387…
2021-22 (Fall): Took 10th of 22 in Collegiate 4+ at the Head of the Oklahoma ... In 2v8 that defeated Oregon State 2v8 and LMU V8 at the Head of the Spokane and lost to WSU 2v8 by just 1 second ... Rowed in GU’s 2v in Championship 8+ at the Head of the Lake, losing only to the University of Washington and the Gonzaga 1v but beating all other team’s varsity 8+s
(Spring): Consistently performed as the coxswain of the Second Varsity 8 team throughout the season… Best finishes of the season came at the PLU Invitational, where the Second Varsity 8 team finished first back-to-back with times of 7:01.1 and 7:14.1… Assisted in fourth- and seventh-place finishes at the San Diego Crew Classic…Was part of the crew that swept the WCC Championships and went on to compete at the NCAA Championship...CRCA Scholar Athlete
2020-2021: In V4 that defeated WCC rival LMU in first spring competition .... Part of 2V4 that defeated Portland’s 1V4 at GU Invitational against U. Portland, Seattle U and Pacific Lutheran .... Part of Conference Squad that won the program’s 19th WCC Championship ... In 2V4 that won the 2021 WCC Championships
2019-20: Coxed the novice eight for both time-trials during the fall season…in her collegiate debut, helped the novice eight to a 21:33.3 time-trial finish at the Head of the Spokane on Oct. 19…followed it up with a 17:59.9 4,000-meter time-trial finish against Washington State and Oregon State on Nov. 2…spring season shortened due to COVID-19.
High School: Attended South Eugene High School in Eugene, Ore…rowed for four years for the South Eugene rowing club…three-time Coxswain of the Year…graduated with a 3.83 GPA and a partial IB diploma.
Personal: Daughter of Keri Swanson and Sean Bretschneider…has two sisters and one brother, Tessa, Gemma and Leo…undeclared major…wants to help make the world a better place…chose Gonzaga because she felt like it was home, everyone was very friendly and helpful and the faculty works hard to give the students tools to achieve academically and socially…grandpa Gary Swanson played football at the University of Oklahoma.
