Biography

2022-23: Opening the season with the Third Varsity 8 team, she helped the squad place eighth at the Head of the Spokane, ending with a time of 17:54… Also helped the Junior Varsity 8 team place second, with a time of 19:03.673, at the Head of the Lake… Performing the rest of the season with the Second Varsity 4 team, picked up a first-place finish against Oklahoma, second-place finish at the Oregon State Invitational, second-place finish against Washington State, and a first-place finish at the Triton Invitational… Wrapped up the year with a third-place finish at the WCC Championship, closing with a time of 7:45.683…

2021-2022 (Fall): In 2v8 that defeated Oregon State 2v8 and LMU V8 at the Head of the Spokane and lost to WSU 2v8 by just 1 second ... Rowed in GU’s 2v in Championship 8+ at the Head of the Lake, losing only to the University of Washington and the Gonzaga 1v but beating all other team’s varsity 8+s (Spring):  Shifted to the Second Varsity 4 team at the PLU Invitational and helped earn finishes in first and second with the team… Against Minnesota, assisted the Second Varsity 4 team in finishing fourth with a time of 8:03.21… At the San Diego Crew Classic, earned finishes in third and sixth while performing with the Varsity 4 team…Part of the crew that swept the WCC Championships and went on to compete at the NCAA Championships

2020-2021: Part of Conference Squad that won the program’s 19th WCC Championship ... Named to Gonzaga Deans List (GPA > 3.5)


2019-20: Rowed with the novice eight (A) group during her collegiate debut in the fall at the Head of the Spokane on Oct. 19…helped the Zags to a 21:33.3 time-trial finish…rowed with the second varsity eight in the second and final time-trial of the fall season…helped the Bulldogs to a 15:30.2 finish against Washington State and Oregon State on Nov. 2…spring season shortened due to COVID-19.

High School: Graduated from University Laboratory School in Honolulu in 2019…was a three-sport athlete in canoe paddling, water polo and cross country…was the canoe paddling co-captain her sophomore, junior and senior seasons…finished second in conference her junior season and qualified for the HHSAA State Championships…finished in fifth with a time of 4:34.89…was named an ILH Division II Water Polo Second Team All-Star in 2019…earned the 2019 HMSA Kaimana Award, given to those student-athletes who not only shine in the classroom and playing field, but also in their communities…also earned the 2018 Three Sport Athlete Award…maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout high school…a four-time Super Academic Achievement Honor Roll recipient…twice awarded gold for the President’s Volunteer Service Award…valedictorian of her graduating class…student body president.

Club: Paddled for the Kamehameha Canoe Club…competed in multiple long-distance races, with her longest race spanning 42 miles from Molokai to Oahu through the Ka Iwi Channel…finished second in the junior division and 24th overall with a time of 6.34:02…advanced to the Hawaii Canoe Racing Association State Championship in both 2017 and 2018…posted the second-fastest recorded times in state in both the Girls 16(1/2 mile) and Girls 18(1/2 mile), finishing in 4:28.41 for 16s and 4:22.53 for 18s.

Personal: Daughter of Holly Jackson and Braden Jackson…has one brother, Baylee…cousin Hannah Jordan plays water polo at Concordia Irvine…she has never rowed, but has instead paddled in Hawaii for the last five years, where her longest race was 42 miles long…majoring in biology with plans to become a pediatrician or gynecologist….chose Gonzaga “because of the many opportunities it offered me and because of the well-rounded education I could receive here: conducting research in the classroom as a biology major, on the water as a rower and in the performing arts center as a choir member.”
