2022-23: Named the 2023 WCC Coxswain of the Year… Performed throughout the season as the coxswain of the Varsity 8 team… Helped earn first-place finishes at the Head of the Spokane, against Oklahoma, at the Triton Invitational, and at the WCC Championship… Also picked up a second-place finishes at the Head of the Lake, with a time of 18:11.208, and a third-place finish at the Oregon State Invitational and a fourth-place finish at the Dexter Lake Invitational… Concluded her senior season with numerous top-five heat finishes at the NCAA Championships, including a first-place finish in the final heat, concluding with a time of 6:42.849...
2021-2022 (Fall): Raced in Varsity 8 that finished 4th of 10 in Collegiate 8+ at the Head of the Oklahoma ... Won the Collegiate 4+ out of 22 entries at the Head of the Oklahoma, defeating top boats from Alabama, Oklahoma, Tulsa, and Kansas ... In V8 that took 3rd of 12 at the Head of the Spokane, behind OSU & WSU 1v8 ... Rowed in the 4+s flight at the Head of the Spokane, defeating crews from OSU and WSU ... (Spring): Rowed in GU’s 1v in Championship 8+ at the Head of the Lake, taking 3rd overall...Helped Gonzaga earn first-place finishes in multiple races, including at the PLU Invitational and against Minnesota… Also participated as the coxswain of the Varsity 4 team at the Head of Oklahoma, where she helped earn a time of 15:12.94 and a first-place finish…Coxed the Varsity 8 crew in two second-place finishes at the San Diego Crew Classic, finishing with times of 06:50.269 and 06:58.78…Part of the Varsity 8 that took first in the 2022 WCC Championships and 18th overall at the NCAA Championships...Named WCC Coxswain of the Year
2020-2021: Part of 2V boat that swept all 3 races at GU Invitational against U. Portland, Seattle U and Pacific Lutheran ... Part of Conference Squad that won the program’s 19th WCC Championship ... In 2V8 that took 2nd at the 2021 WCC Championships
2019-20: Coxed the novice eight (B) at the Head of the Spokane on Oct. 19…helped the Bulldogs to a 24:13.1 time-trial finish in her collegiate debut…spring season shortened due to COVID-19.
High School: Attended Ventura High School in Ventura, Calif…rowed for six years for the Lake Casitas Rowing Association in Ojai, Caif…was the team captain in her junior and senior years…graduated with a 3.6 GPA .
Personal: Majoring in biology and wants to go into research…chose Gonzaga because of the amazing support system for student athletes and the great sense of community she felt when she first stepped foot on campus…While attending Ventura High School, Sailor was the captain of the rowing team… Daughter of Brad and Nicole Hawes
