In August of 2024, Gonzaga volleyball head coach Katie Wilson announced the hiring of Sarah Glass as an assistant coach and the director of volleyball operations.
Glass brings 16 years of volleyball coaching experience to Gonzaga, having coached a range of athletes from elementary to high school. She combined for nine seasons at the high school level, coaching five seasons at Seattle Preparatory from 2006-2010 before coaching four seasons at Lakeside High School from 2012-2015. During her time on the West side of the state, Glass’ teams won multiple league championships, a district championship, and multiple state tournament appearances – including a WIAA 3A State title in 2010.
In addition, Glass brings two years of rugby-coaching experience at the University of Washington – a program in which she competed for four years and served as the team’s president for three years. She graduated from Washington with a degree in Social Welfare in 2009 before earning her Masters in Social Work in 2012. After graduating from the UW, Glass also earned certifications in teaching and advanced software development.
Born and raised in Spokane, Glass graduated from Gonzaga Prep in 2005 where she was a three-time letterwinner in both volleyball and track and field. During her time as a Bullpup, Glass was part of a third-place team at the WIAA 4A State Tournament where she was named team MVP. Now residing in the city where she grew up, Glass joins the staff of a program she once admired during her prep years.
