Men's Tennis Edged By UC Davis

PORTLAND, Ore. - The University of California, Davis, men's tennis team captured four of six singles matches to earn a come-from-behind, 4-3, victory over Gonzaga University Saturday afternoon.
With the loss the Bulldogs dropped to 1-2, while the Aggies even their early-season record at 1-1.
Play began on Saturday with Gonzaga earning the opening doubles point by taking two of three doubles matches. Bryce Cooper and Dru Ernst paired up to defeat Casey McMakin and Kyle Makin at No. 1, while Reid Arthur and Brett Womack joined together for the win over Kyle Trinosky and Ross Barasch at No. 2.
In singles play, the Bulldogs captured the top two matches with Cooper defeating Aggie freshman Michael Chin at No.1 and Ernst defeating McMakin at No.2.
Those remained the victories for Gonzaga as UC Davis claimed the remaining four singles matches for the team victory.
The Bulldogs will next travel to Lewiston, Idaho, to take on Lewis & Clark on Sunday, Feb. 8 at 1 p.m.
