Men's Tennis Ends Road Trip With Loss To Nevada

RENO, Nevada - The Gonzaga University men's tennis team nearly won the doubles point, but could not prevent the sweep of singles play by the University of Nevada, Reno, as the Bulldogs dropped to 4-11 on the season with a 7-0 loss.
Robert Penney and Jesse Goldsmith teamed up for Gonzaga to grab a doubles win over Milos Popovic and Max Volger, 8-5, while Bryce Cooper and Dru Ernst took Adam Jooste and Daniel Ericsson to a tiebreaker set, but lost 9-8 (7-5).
Nevada continued its winning play into the singles matches, as Jooste defeated Bulldog Cooper (6-1, 7-6) and Rudolf Leuschner defeated Ernst (6-3, 6-3) at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, respectively. Reid Arthur took his match against Ericsson to three sets (6-2, 1-6, 6-0), but was defeated.
The men's tennis team returns home to host University of Idaho on Sunday, March 14 at 11 a.m.
