No. 16 Washington Sweeps GU, 7-0

SEATTLE, Wash. - The Gonzaga University men's tennis team was swept by the 16th ranked University of Washington Huskies, 7-0 Friday at the Nordstrom Tennis Center.

With the loss the Zags fall to 1-4 on the season.

Washington took the lead early, capturing the doubles point. Bryce Cooper and Dru Ernst were defeated by Andy Kuharszky and the ninth-ranked Alex Slovic, 8-3. Ernst and Cooper were previously unbeaten as a team until this weekend.

Singles play held the same fate for Gonzaga as the Huskies won each match in straight sets. The Bulldogs have only been swept one other time this season against the University of Oregon.

Gonzaga will be back in action on Sunday at 10 a.m. as they travel to Portland, Ore. play the University of Portland for their West Coast Conference opener.
