IRVINE, Calif. - The Gonzaga University men's tennis team lost 7-0 to the University of California, Irvine Wednesday afternoon.
The Anteaters took the doubles point, but Gonzaga didn't go down without a fight. Brett Womack and Marco Pineda recorded a win in the No. 3 doubles spot as they handed Peter Surapol and Aaron Ellis a 9-8 loss.
In singles play Pineda took Mustafa Ulukan to three sets winning the first set 7-5, but dropped the remaining sets 6-2, 10-4.
The Bulldogs will be back in action on Thursday when they head to Los Angeles, Calif. for a West Coast Conference match against Loyola Marymount University at 1:30 p.m.
