MALIBU, Calif. - The Gonzaga University men's tennis team was swept in the second round of the West Coast Conference Championships as Loyola Marymount University defeated the Bulldogs, 4-0. Gonzaga fell to 5-16 with the loss and will face the loser of the Saint Mary's College and University of San Francisco match in a 9 a.m. match on Sunday, April 24.
Loyola Marymount claimed four-of-six singles matches to seal the victory. In the No. 1 spot Mike Wojnarwicz defeated Bryce Cooper (6-3, 6-3). In the No. 2 spot Nico Terrien defeated Dru Ernst (6-1, 6-1). In the No. 3 spot Beau Berglund defeated Brett Womack (6-4, 6-2) and in the No. 4 spot Linas Cicenas defeated Reid Arthur (6-1, 6-3). Cooper Fratt and Marco Pineda's singles matches were not played due to the Lions sure victory.
The doubles matches were not played because Loyola Marymount had already clinched the win.
