Complete WCC Fall All-Academic Team in PDF Format 
SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Gonzaga University had eight student-athletes named to the West Coast Conference Fall All-Academic teams announced Friday by WCC Commissioner Jamie Zaninovich.
Men's cross country led the way with three selections, men's soccer and volleyball had two each and women's soccer had one.
To be eligible a student-athlete must have one year of residence at its institution, carry a 3.2 cumulative GPA and be a starter or key reserve.
Two of the Bulldogs honored are seniors. Men's cross country runner Colby Litzenberger (3.58 GPA in civil engineering) and volleyball player Elaina Renius (3.60, school counseling) were named to the squads.
Other Bulldogs honored were cross country runners Matt Bejar (3.72, psychology) and Brett Withers (3.71, business administration); volleyball player Layne Brosky (3.53, sociology); men's soccer players Bryan Mullaney (3.64, business administration) and Nick Barclay (3.39, engineering), and women's soccer player Kelcey Goddard (3.42, physical education). All are junior except Bejar who is a sophomore.
"Our student-athletes continue to perform well in the classroom," Gonzaga athletic director Mike Roth said. "We have the academic tools in place to go with the athletic resources to make our student-athletes successful not only on the field of competition but in the classroom. Our coaches and support staff are to be commended for the emphasis we all put on academics as well as athletics."
