Bulldogs Close Out Perfect Weekend With 7-0 Sweep

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Gonzaga University women's tennis team closed out a perfect weekend with a 7-0 sweep over Portland State University in a non-conference match Saturday afternoon.
The Zags (10-4) followed up their 4-3 West Coast Conference victory over University of Portland Friday with a dominating performance over the Vikings. The Bulldogs opened the match by taking all three doubles matches to earn the early 1-0 advantage.
In singles play Gonzaga cruised through the six matches as Rika Mehndiratta won at No. 1, Kristina Zauere won at No.2, Prue Tietzel to post her team-leading 10th win of the season. Danielle Farmer recorded a won at No. 4, Clare Dodge also won at No. 5 for the second consecutive day and Sophie Lantta closed out the lineup with win at No. 6.
"I was very impressed with the focus and determination we had this weekend," stated head coach D.J. Gurule. "It was a great way to finish up the weekend and I was very excited to see Danielle get a win while playing at her home tennis club."
Next up for Gonzaga is a home match against the University of Montana Mar. 28.
