Men's Tennis Edges Seattle in Dual Opener

ISSAQUAH, Wash. - The Gonzaga University men's tennis team opened its 2011 schedule with a 4-3 win over Seattle University Thursday evening.
Junior Jake Davis picked up a 6-4, 7-6 (8-6) win in No. 6 singles to earn Gonzaga's (1-0) match-winning point. Sophomore Levin Guillermo and junior Scott Sullivan were also victorious in singles play. Guillermo earned a 6-4, 6-0 win in the No. 1 spot while Sullivan recorded a 6-4, 6-4 win in No. 3 singles.
Gonzaga secured the doubles point with wins by senior Kevin Eischen and freshman Pablo Mosquera Pérez in the No. 2 spot, Davis and freshman Muzeen Ismath in the No. 3.
Gonzaga will stay in the Seattle area to play a tough match against No. 26 University of Washington Friday at 4 p.m.
