SPOKANE, Wash. - After opening West Coast Conference play Wednesday with a 90-51 victory over the University of Portland, Gonzaga steps outside the conference Saturday to travel to Cincinnati, Ohio, to face Xavier University at the Cintas Center.

Gonzaga leads the all-time series with Xavier University 2-1, taking last season's meeting in the McCarthey Athletic Center 64-54. Xavier won the first meeting between the teams Dec. 23, 1960, at Xavier 87-82. Gonzaga took a 79-75 verdict March 16, 2006, in the NCAA First Round in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Gonzaga head coach Mark Few is 2-0 against Xavier University, while third-year Musketeers head coach Chris Mack is 0-1 against Gonzaga.
