Amateurism
In order to participate in college athletics you must maintain your amateur status. To do so, you need to avoid the following:
- Using athletics skill for pay in any form in the sport you participate in;
- Accepting a promise of pay even if such pay is to be received following competition;
- Signing a contract or commitment to play professional athletics ;
- Receiving any form of financial assistance from a professional sports organization (except as permitted);
- Competing on any professional athletics team, even if no pay is received;
- Entering a professional draft;
- Entering into an agreement with an agent.
