SPOKANE, Wash. - A 1-1 weekend which saw Gonzaga University's men's soccer team lose to host University of Illinois Chicago 1-0 and down No. 21 University of Wisconsin 2-0 in the UIC Soccer Classic was met with mixed results by the pollsters this week.
The Bulldogs, who finished second in the UIC Soccer Classic, moved up two spots to 22nd in the TopDrawerSoccer.com Top 25, but the Zags dropped four spots to 23rd in the Soccer America Top 25.
The Bulldogs received 10 votes in the Soccer Times balloting and six points in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) voting.
Gonzaga also fell from the top 10 of the NSCAA Far West rankings.
The Bulldogs are 4-2-0 and return home Saturday to meet Seattle University at 3 p.m. on Gonzaga Soccer Field. It will be the first home match for the Bulldogs since the season opener Aug. 31 when they dropped a 1-0 decision to the University of Washington.
