STORYLINES
- Gonzaga kicks off season 17 under head coach Mark Few.
- Josh Perkins returns to the floor after a jaw injury sidelined him for the season in the fifth game of '14-15.
- All three big men return - 7-1 Przemek Karnowski, 6-11 Domantas Sabonis, 6-10 Kyle Wiltjer - in addition to the return of redshirt sophomore 7-1 Ryan Edwards.
- GU opens the season against Pittsburgh in Okinawa, Japan, at the Armed Forces Classic on Nov. 13.
- GU also plays in the Bahamas in the Battle for Atlantis, opening the tournament against Washington on Nov. 25.
- Gonzaga returns two starters and six other letterwinners for the '15-16 season.

- Gonzaga is one of two teams (Kansas) to win at least one NCAA tournament game each of the last 7 seasons.

ABOUT EASTERN OREGON
- EOU has already played five games this season, going 3-2 under head coach Jason Barrett.
- The high-scoring Mountaineers have three players averaging at least 14.4 points per game and average 91.6 points per game as a team. Opponents have averaged 85.2 ppg in those five games.
- Trell Washington is an inside-outside scoring threat averaging a double-double 21.4 ppg and 13.4 rpg.
- Case Rada is second on the team at 18.0 ppg, including 12-for-35 from behind the arc.
ZAGS TO TRAVEL FAR AND WIDE
- In its first month of the season, Gonzaga will make the 5,900-mile trip to Okinawa, Japan, to take on Pitt at the Armed Forces Classic in NCAA Division I's first regular season game on November 13. After returning home on Nov. 14, the Zags with then jump back on the plane on Nov. 22 to travel to Paradise Island, Bahamas, for the Battle for Atlantis. That trek amounts to nearly 2,700 miles one way. All-told, between the two roundtrips, the Zags will travel more than 17,000 miles in the season's first three weeks.
BIG ATTENTION ON BIG MEN
- Gonzaga's returning trio of big men in 7-1 Przemek Karnowski, 6-11 Domantas Sabonis and 6-10 Kyle Wiltjer has warranted national pundits to call it the "best frontcourt in America." That group combined to average 37.4 points and 19.1 rebounds per game, while shooting a combined .594 (566-953) on the season.
WILTJER NAMED PRESEASON NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE YEAR
- CBSSports.com named Kyle Wiltjer its preseason national player of the year. Last season, Wiltjer led the team with 16.8 points per game and shot a team-best .466 from behind the arc while making 68 three-pointers. He led the team in scoring 18 times and had a team-best 30 games with double-digit points, including 11 with more than 20. His highest-scoring game came at Pacific on Feb. 19 with 45 points, the third-highest single-game total ever at GU. Wiltjer became the seventh Zag named WCC Newcomer of the Year and was also a USBWA and NABC Second Team All-American, AP Third-Team All-American, First Team All-WCC selection and WCC Tournament Most Outstanding Player.
ZAGS PICKED TO WIN WCC
- Gonzaga earned all nine possible first-place votes by the WCC coaches in the preseason poll, while three players were named Preseason All-WCC - Przemek Karnowski, Kyle Wiltjer, and Domantas Sabonis.
THE BIG KARNOWSKI
- Center Przemek Karnowski returns for his senior season after averaging 10.9 points and 5.8 rebounds and earning All-WCC First Team honors in '14-15. The Poland native was first on the team in blocks with 39 and second on the team with a .622 field goal percentage. Karnowski also spent the latter part of the summer and early fall with the Polish National Team playing in the European Championships, advancing out of the group stage.
SABONIS: YEAR TWO
- Often called the top NBA prospect on the team, 6-11 Domantas Sabonis enters his second season with the Zags after leading the team with a .668 field-goal percentage as a freshman, including seven games where he was perfect from the field. The Lithuania native also led the team in rebounding at 7.1 per game and scored 9.7 points per game, while earning All-WCC Second Team honors. Sabonis hit double figures in scoring 20 times and rebounding six times. He also played for the Lithuanian National Team in the European Championships, helping his squad advance to the title game, which also earned the team berth in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.
PERKINS BACK ON COURT
- Gonzaga's most heralded freshman last season, was forced from action in just the fifth game in '14-15 after a freak collision left him with a broken jaw. In those five games, Perkins averaged 5.0 points and 3.4 assists while shooting .500 (9-18) from the field and .400 (4-10) from behind the arc.
JACK OF ALL TRADES
- Senior Kyle Dranginis will be relied upon for leadership and his ability to fill up the stat sheet. Coming off the bench in '14-15, the Nampa, Idaho, native was third in the team in blocks (15), fourth in steals (23), fifth in assists (63) and sixth in rebounding (2.6/game).
NIKE N7 GAME
- Gonzaga and Nike N7 are partnering on Wednesday, Nov. 18, for the men's basketball game against Northern Arizona at 6 p.m. in celebration of Native American Heritage Month. As part of the event, the Bulldog men's basketball team will wear turquoise uniforms against NAU, which is a color symbolic of friendship and harmony in Native American cultures. N7 is Nike's long-time commitment and mission to inspire and enable two million Native American and Aboriginal youth in North America to participate in sport and physical activity. The N7 philosophy embraces the Native philosophy: "In every deliberation we must consider the impact of our decisions on the next seven generations."
